Project Engineer
I. Position Summary
Provide project engineering expertise to the Unilever manufacturing operation in Suffolk, VA. Primary responsibilities are in support of innovation process, cost savings, and infrastructure projects.

Develop and manage the execution of multiple capital and innovation projects within cost, scope, and schedule objectives. Manages both internal and external resources to achieve project objectives.

Identify, develop, and execute VIP (cost savings) initiatives.

Acts as expert in engineering discipline with general understanding of supply chain, brand, and business area.

Il. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)
* Engineering task leader in support of innovation and growth initiatives. Schedules and coordinates major segments of complex projects within project team or all segments of minor projects to meet cost and time objectives..
* Supervision of technical associates or outside consultants within engineering discipline and coordinate all work within the scope of assigned projects. Reviews design and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.
* Prepares engineering documents including cost estimates, appropriation requests, project schedules, design specifications, equipment specifications, and construction specifications. Organizes and supervises the resources necessary to supply and install design solutions.
*Develops solutions to complex problems. Conducts feasibility studies, determines manpower and cost estimates, and develops engineering criteria.
* Participates in creating project objectives. Determines plan design to complete objectives.
* Identify, develop, and implement SMART initiatives to meet defined business objectives.


Ill. Challenges
* Ability to deal with multi-faceted technologies and disciplines outside of area of expertise.
* Successfully manage multiple capital projects and internal/external resources.
* Ability to develop concepts and cost estimates without the benefit of detailed engineering.
* Ability to work with all disciplines of Supply Chain and work in cross-functional teams.
