First Home Care was established in 1991 to provide community-based services for children with a history of out-of-home behavioral health treatment. Since then, the First Home Care team has developed an integrated continuum of care which includes Therapeutic Foster Care, School-Based Programming, Therapeutic Group Homes, Alternative Day School and Outpatient Counseling.

We are seeking a Day Treatment Specialist to join our team in Portsmouth, VA.
This position designs, and implements therapeutic activities with students including, but not limited to group counseling, individual counseling, behavior management, social skills and psycho-educational activities. Serves as a role model for students to learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors. Employees will work out of the Portsmouth Public Schools to provide clinical intervention to enchance education experience for the students.
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and one or more years of direct care experience working with at-risk youth. Position to work in the public school system. Must have a valid driver's license and flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
