Job Title: Generator Electrical Technician
Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Generator Electrical Technician a the Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA. This position will maintain emergency generators and ATS systems, also perform facilities maintenance functions, installs, maintain repairs, tests electrical equipment and systems. Flexible schedule with weekend work and on call response required. Hospital experience a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be familiar and maintain emergency power systems to include generators, transfer switches and state of the art controls.
Keep track of maintenance schedules and records for generator systems in accordance with NFPA 110.
Responsible for all electrical related and general maintenance duties required maintaining facility operations in the proper manner.
Proficient in installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing a variety of electrical equipment of systems such as, but not limited to generators, transformers, switches, circuit breakers, motors, conduit and fire alarm systems.
Monitor power plant equipment, ability to work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints and/or verbal instruction
Proficient in the use of standard electrician’s tools and measuring/testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, and testing lamp.
Ability to select the correct materials to complete work assignments.
Must be self motivated and work with little supervision
Proficient in making necessary computations/test relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
Clean and maintain equipment, ensure work site cleanliness.
Perform other duties as assigned grounds, general carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.)
Qualifications:
Good communication skills, verbal and written and proficiency with Windows type computer programs a necessity.
Must be familiar and maintain emergency power systems to include generators, transfer switches and state of the art controls.
Journeyman license a plus
