Job Summary
This individual, reporting to the Program Manager will provide basic counseling support to military and their family members who are struggling with issues, have questions or need referrals to appropriate resources at Yellow Ribbon Events.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of each Yellow Ribbon Program Event in conjunction with the family support network, national, regional, state, local military, government, volunteer organizations, private non-profit, and for profit organizations
Participate in program management update meetings as needed
The implementation and management of the required Quality Assurance Program (QASP) for the Navy Reserve yellow ribbon program
Overseeing the collection of all pertinent data through the SharePoint site, and the delivery of reports as necessary
The oversight of the completion of tasks and deliverables by the other coordinators
Facilitate government provided reintegration programming (including mental health related topics), at Yellow Ribbon Events in a back up capacity
Monitor effectiveness of Yellow Ribbon Event programming and provide input to Government Client representative regarding potential improvements to better meet the needs of participants in future programs
Assist, support, and advise in the planning and execution of Yellow Ribbon Events, coordinate with other commands, services and support organizations
Participate in Inter Service Family Assistance Committee (ISFAC) or state coalition planning meetings; share military member and family program information with all services, components, and partner organizations/agencies
Build and maintain a database containing all relative subject matter experts for regional areas of responsibility throughout the Navy Region, including child and youth service providers, venues for YRP events, psychological health/mental health resources, VA benefits and resources and TRICARE benefits and resources
Develop and maintain a repository for all procedures, policies, best practices and lessons learned in support of YRP
Management of the yellow ribbon coordinator travel budget
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required, Master's degree in Social Work or other human services field preferred
Ability to pass a security clearance level background investigation
In depth knowledge of military well-being programs and military lifestyles
Strong computer skills
Experience in project management and program building
Military spouse, family member, or experience in military community highly preferred
