Responsible for the efficient operation of the site utility systems which include production of steam, soft water, reverse osmosis (RO) water, compressed air, ammonia refrigeration, building HVAC units, chillers, cooling towers, spent coffee grounds system, waste treatment plant, and general building/site. Duties include both operation and maintenance of the above mentioned equipment. Serve as a back up resource to Process Mechanics and Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians. Maintain both equipment and written logs to comply with Sara Lee, local and federal governmental requirements for OSHA, EPA/DEQ and HRSD.
•Steam Production - Operation, preventative maintenance (PM) and break down maintenance for the boiler, pumps, valves, gauges, steam traps, piping, tanks and Electrostatic Precipitator (air pollution equipment).
•Cooling and Refrigeration Systems - Operation, preventative maintenance and break down maintenance for ammonia compressors, chillers, valves, gauges, pumps, condensers, cooling towers and fans.
•Spent Coffee Grounds System - Operation, preventative maintenance and break down maintenance for the collector tank, pumps, hydraulic presses, vacuum press, bucket elevator, conveyors, valves and piping.
•Process Water Production and Waste Discharge - Operation, preventative maintenance and break down maintenance for the water softener system, de-chlorination water system, reverse osmosis (RO) water system, process hot water cleaning systems and the waste water discharge pre-treatment equipment.
•Building Utilities - Preventative maintenance and break down maintenance for air handlers, dehumidification systems, humidification systems, fans, valves, sprinklers, pumps, pipes, air compressors, and alarm devices.
•OSHA Programs - Participates as a team member on the Plant First Responders First Aid Team.
Qualifications
•High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
•3 to 5 years experience in industrial maintenance environment in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting boilers,
•HVAC systems, chiller, cooling towers, ammonia refrigeration, pumps, valves, water purification and waste water treatment systems.
•Must be able to work a non-standard shift schedule.
•Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex operation and maintenance manuals, operational graphics, technical drawings and regulatory documents.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate orally, written and electronically.
•Create, enter and maintain detailed, accurate information logs.
•Certification in ammonia refrigeration systems including familiarity with PSM and RMP programs.
•Familiarity with all applicable OSHA safety programs including Lock Out/Tag Out.
